FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Belleville, MI October 16, 2012
NEW GUIDING HARBOR BOARD OF DIRECTORS WEBSITE
Belleville, MI based non profit organization will use new website to draw attention to Michigan’s abused and neglected children.
The new website focuses on communicating the issues and gaining support within the community. The primary source of funds that support the Guiding Harbor children come from the Annual Auction, and private donations. The fresh, clean website, designed and developed by VC Web Design, will make it easier for auction attendees and benefactors to get information on the event and spread the word to support their cause.
Those wishing to support the auction will now be able to reserve a table and select their meal and pay for it online, and it is easy. If you wish to become an angel supporters that also can be done using this new website. Board President Terese Whitten had this to say about the website. “Having a presence on the web that tells our story and gives people the opportunity to join us in improving the lives of children is very important in this techno age. The user friendliness of this site whether you are reserving a place at the auction or making a monetary donation is just the boost we needed to build our support base and advance our work.”
Guiding Harbor began as Girlstown in 1958, providing quality residential services to young female victims of abuse and neglect, and has expanded to include all child victims. The non-profit organization now offers residential programs for girls and boys, foster care placements and services, and supervised independent living for young adults ages 16 to 21.
The Guiding Harbor Board of Directors is a group of volunteers from across Michigan who are charged with the oversight of the programs at Guiding Harbor. They are also challenged to raise the funds that provide enrichment programs, maintain the physical properties and to ensure the high quality of services provided by the Guiding Harbor staff.
